Bachelor of Science (Hons) Architecture
Taylor's University Lakeside Campus, Malaysia
Project 2: Still Rendering with Materials, Lights, Camera Views with Site Context
This final project is a continuation of the first - an integrated project with design studio work involving construction detailing solutions. This project is to demonstrate our understanding of the construction process which we had learnt in the previous project. There is also an emphasis in producing manual construction drawing - magnified to show all the details and components involved especially in joints.
The main objective of this assignment is to develop an awareness and understanding of the strong inter-relationship between these two areas of study - construction and design. Critical success of any design project relies on a designer’s ability to address issues of appropriate methods of construction, integration of structure and the selection of materials whilst addressing the many other complex issues that are part of the design process
This project developed my awareness and understanding of the important relationship between the two areas of study - construction and design. It has proven to me that the success of a design project relies on the ability of the designer to understand and select appropriate methods of construction, integration of structure and suitable selection of materials.
Project 1: Modelling of an Architectural Design
First 5 views of model’s form
This project had us going to the construction sites itself several times to document and observe the construction process. It was interesting to see what we had learnt in lectures being applied in reality. It was a challenging, arduous task that required a lot of commitment and attention to detail.
